Post moulded inserts can offer significant benefits over mould-in inserts such as a reduction of in place cost, no
secondary operation to clean flash residue from threads, fewer rejects due to dislodged inserts and ease of
installation.
Inserts for amorphous thermoplastics are available in a range of thread sizes, in headed and non-headed variants,
are manufactured from brass and stainless steel and are suitable for installation in notch sensitive thermoplastics by
heat-staking. Featuring rounded knurl bands to minimise stress, the non-headed variant is a symmetrical design,
avoiding the issue of part orientation during installation.
