Post moulded inserts can offer significant benefits over mould-in inserts such as a reduction of in place cost, no
secondary operation to clean flash residue from threads, fewer rejects due to dislodged inserts and ease of
installation.
Press Inserts for brittle thermosetting plastics are available in a range of thread sizes, in headed and non-headed
variants, are manufactured from brass and stainless steel and are suitable for installation in hard thermosetting
plastics by simply pressing in to a pre-prepared hole. The three helical knurl bands cut into the hole wall to lock the
insert in place. This insert rotates as it is installed, so a polished punch face is recommended.
