Arnold Shinjo can offer a solution for nearly every type of application requiring high strength captivated
male and female threads in sheet metal panels. With a product range comprising of self-piercing nuts
and clinch studs for pre-pierced holes, they are designed for fully automatic installation in to all
normal sheet metal grades. Arnold and Shinjo fasteners can be supplied with a surface finish to suit
your requirements.
Different versions of self-piercing nuts are available for varying applications in sheet metal
thicknesses ranging from 0.4 to 3.5mm.
The PIAS® series of square type KP, HN and PNC self-piercing nuts which are designed for
installation into specific panel thickness ranging from 0.4mm to 4.0mm. In order to install Pias®
series nuts, the Pias® installation tooling system is required.
PIAS®-KP self-piercing nuts are designed to meet high strength thread requirements and higher
torque demands of the automotive industry (for example), with thread sizes ranging from M5 to M10
and are available in material property classes 8 and 10. They can be specified for panels ranging
from 0.6mm to 2.0mm.
PIAS®-HN self-piercing nuts are designed to meet high strength thread requirements in thicker
panels, with thread sizes ranging from M5 to M12 and are available in material property class
10. They can be specified for panels ranging from 2.0mm to 4.0mm.
PIAS®-PNC self-piercing nuts are designed to provide cost effective mid-strength threads
ranging from M4 to M10 in thin metal panels. They are available in material property
classes 8 and 9 and can be specified for panels ranging from 0.6mm to 3.5mm. Depending
on the panel thickness, a pre-formed boss in the panel is required.
The RIVTEX® series of nuts and studs comprising of the circular RIVTEX®-RXM self-piercing
nut which is available in sizes M5 to M10 in property class 10. This nut has the benefit that each
thread size is suitable for installation in panel thicknesses ranging from 0.75mm to 2.0mm.
RIVTEX®-RXS studs are available in thread sizes M5 to M10 for sheet thicknesses ranging from
0.75mm to 2.5mm, in strength class 8.8 and 10.9. They are suitable for high load applications in
thinner panels and due to their patented under head geometry exhibit excellent performance.
Rivtex® studs require a pre-pierced pilot hole which allows accurate thread centring during
installation.
In order to install Rivtex® series nuts and studs, the Rivtex® installation tooling system is
required.
STRUX®-SX studs are available in thread sizes M5 to M10 for sheet thicknesses ranging from
2.0mm to 5.0mm, in strength class 8.8 and 10.9. They are suitable for high load applications
in thicker panels and due to their patented under head geometry exhibit excellent
performance. Strux® studs require a pre-pierced pilot hole which allows accurate thread
centring during installation.
In order to install Strux® series studs, the Strux® installation tooling system is
required.
