Resistance welding is a process by where current and pressure are used to bond two pieces of metal. Resistance welding requires force in the bonding process. Pressure is used to hold two pieces of metal together while they are cooling. This also allows for the metals to properly bond together. The necessary pressure for the bonding process is typically applied by the machine or manually by the operator.Hexagon weld nuts feature three precision weld projections located on the head. This design allows for attachment of the fastener on the topside of the panel. The three equispaced projections are of equal height and size allowing for a properly balanced and positioned weld. Hexagon weld nuts are designed for through-hole applications and are self-locating, eliminating the need for additional jigging. Hexagon weld nuts are available in a range of thread sizes, manufactured from steel and stainless steel and are suitable for use with compatible panel materials. Hexagon weld nuts require appropriate resistance welding equipment for attachment.
