Resistance welding is a process by where current and pressure are used to bond two pieces of metal. Resistance
welding requires force in the bonding process. Pressure is used to hold two pieces of metal together while they are
cooling. This also allows for the metals to properly bond together. The necessary pressure for the bonding process
is typically applied by the machine or manually by the operator.
Square weld nuts feature four precision weld projections located on the head. This design allows for attachment of
the fastener on the topside of the panel. The four equispaced projections are of equal height and size allowing for a
properly balanced and positioned weld.
Square weld nuts are designed for through-hole applications and are not self-locating, so require additional jigging
or a locating pin for accurate placement during installation.
Square weld nuts are available in a range of thread sizes, manufactured from steel and stainless steel and are
suitable for use with compatible panel materials.
Square weld nuts require appropriate resistance welding equipment for attachment.
